Sarah & Mark's Wedding

My next wedding of the year was that of Sarah & Mark at the stunning Walcot Hall in Shropshire.
A very cool 'vintage glam' affair which took place on a beautiful, sunny day in April, surrounded by their close friends and family. It was obvious, from the beginning, that they wanted a modern, entertaining wedding which allowed their guests to relax and have fun. I hope I was able to capture that in the images below.
Sarah was so calm in the minutes leading up to the ceremony that she even had time to help her father with his cravat, which made for a lovely shot. Her three bridesmaids, two of which were her sisters, made a real statement in their 1920's inspired gowns and were escorted to the ceremony admirably by Mark's groomsmen.
As always, I met up with the guys beforehand and had a lot of fun walking around the estate, capturing the emotions as they happened. It's a time for Mark to have a laugh and chill out with his mates, before heading into the ceremony where the nerves usually set in. I take pride in not adding to their stresses with uncomfortable and traditional posing which, in my opinion, doesn't make for very good pictures.
The ceremony took place in the 'Main Hall' where Sarah & her dad made their grand entrance down the staircase, with Mark eagerly waiting with his brother as best man. Knowing the guys like I do,  I expected their vows to be heartfelt but for there also to be a lot of laughs, which immediately relaxes everyone involved. Once the ceremony had finished and they had walked down the aisle as man & wife we headed out to the front of the hall to grab a few couple shots with the low spring sunshine, while their guests got ready to welcome the couple back with a shower of confetti.
As soon as I stepped into the grand ballroom on my location recce, I knew that it would make an incredible backdrop for all the wedding breakfast details and I was proved right. Further more, it fitted their grey and black colour theme perfectly.
To finish the evening the guys booked the most amazing swing band who kept them dancing until Sarah & Mark decided to kick everyone out and enter day two of their married life together... A big congratulations to the new Mr & Mrs Ashley...
