I struggled with my highlights for this one as there were so many...
Alice & Brenig were married at St Mary's Church in Harley and had their reception at The Hundred House Hotel in Norton.
Alice was adamant that because the church was a stone's throw away from her Nan's house, where she got ready, she wanted to walk there with her dad and bridesmaids. I loved the idea but because of the rain we did not know, up until a few minutes before, if it was feasible, so we had a car on standby. True to form, Alice gave the go ahead to walk as luckily the rain had stopped briefly. It was such a relaxing, casual way to rock up to a church for the bride's arrival!
The groom had the task of organising the wedding transport. He went one step further by surprising his new bride with a re-built Land Rover for her to keep! As this played such a pivotal role in the day, I had the idea of parking it in a nearby field and, along with the dramatic sky, we created a few natural, meaningful images.
We finished the night with a mini gig featuring a one off reunion for Brenig's band, Some Guy and his Mates. It was a great substitute for Alice's family missing out on their annual trip to the Download Festival which was on the same weekend. I also think it will be the one and only time I will get to see a bride crowd surfing, although it has to be mentioned that Alice had no real choice in the matter!
I hope you enjoy looking through the images half as much as I enjoyed taking them...
Oh and look out for one of the 'farmer's field' images in 'West Midlands Bride' Magazine after christmas!
