Penny & Joe's Wedding

It truly was an honour to be chosen to photograph Penny & Joe's wedding at Pendrell Hall in Codsall, Staffordshire. Both very creative and imaginative, they had a definite vision about how they wanted their wedding to look and feel - I hope I was able to capture that in all its splendour.
They were married in the intimate surroundings of the 'Morning Room' and continued the celebrations in 'The Ballroom', with its stained glass skylights giving the room amazing light and atmosphere. As the guys love to travel, the ballroom also provided the perfect backdrop for their amazing travel theme which would not have looked out of place on the streets of South America. Some of the many things that they achieved was to source miniature bottles of Liquor for favours from all the places they had visited, transformed the grand mirror in the hall into their table plan which reflected all the lights that Pendrell has dotted around the venue, had postcards of city artwork all over the place, used a vintage suitcase for their cards, had a big palm tree centrepiece for the top table and cool lanterns on the rest and to top it off, they trusted their guests to enjoy the menu of Antipasti and Chicken & Chorizo Spanish Stew for their wedding breakfast which went down a storm!
Being a preferred supplier for their sister venue 'The Ashes', when I heard the owners Ben & Sarah had also taken over at Pendrell to make a stunning wedding venue, I was really excited to do my first wedding there, not only because its on my doorstep but suited my style down to a tea. They designed the renovation, in my opinion, with photographers in mind as every detail can be used by creatives to embellish bridal details, make every day items into great backdrops which sets the tone for the extravagant wedding ahead.
You always have to cross your fingers a bit when it comes to weather in February but we were blessed with spells of low sunlight, dramatic skylines and beautiful natural light at every turn. This allowed the guys to take me on a simple stroll around the grounds where I had the pleasure of photographing the real and honest emotion between this newly married couple - a couple who dared to be different and succeeded on all counts!
