Polly & Mark's Wedding

Such a cool wedding that I have the pleasure to showcase - the awesome Polly & Mark at Pimhill Barns in Shrewsbury!
Although I've done quite a few weddings now at the beautiful Pimhill, I still make a point of visiting the venue the day before and found the guys, along with their parents, hard at work decorating the barn.
The next day came and it started in the most sedate way. With no bridesmaids, I joined Polly and her mum for the relaxing, final few finishing touches at home, before heading to the venue to meet up with Mark. She remembered the importance of doing what she wanted and I completely commend her for that.
Mark arrived in style, driving his own car (classed as his 'second' love!) and as I always plan plenty of time with my grooms before the ceremony, it allowed us to chill and take some really cool shots. He has a very likeable character as he wears his heart on his sleeve and he wasn't try to hide what an emotional time it was for him.
In the most auspicious arrival of a bride ever, Polly surprised me by turning up in flip flops! A statement of comfort and fashion (that wasn't her aim) that I'm sure will catch on! ;-)
Pendrell is a photographers dream, with lots of natural elements to choose as backdrops for Polly & Mark's Wedding. The guys were blessed with beautiful weather and we made the most of walking the private grounds reserved for the couple and their immediate family. A 16th Century Dovecote, a sandstone archway surrounded by lavender and beautiful vistas of the Shropshire countryside were just a few of my options!
The barn was stunningly decorated with a vintage charm that of course, suited the venue perfectly.  Twinkling lights, bunting and wicker hearts were all used to create this effect. They set up a slightly more formal dining space in the marquee where they continued the look with handmade hessian vases and old milk churns filled with flowers of red, purple and white, along with a truly awesome table plan comprising of an old french wine crate filled with fresh herbs and plants. There was even a little nod to Mark's car craze with the names of car parts as the table names.
Polly's dad, rocking a pretty awesome waistcoat himself, had some lovely 'Thumbs Up' words for his daughter and new son-in-law which was followed by Mark and his Stepdad Ian, who played the role of his best man with a calming and protective assurance which you hope for from any in his position.
We were then into the evening which consisted of a lot of dancing, accompanied by a very talented 'one man band,' before cutting their cake which, was the last ceremonial act they had to do as the new Mr & Mrs McGivern.
This wedding was perfect for my style of photography and it was a true honour to be chosen for their special day.
